Olympic Coach Opening Second Gymnastics Facility in NW Houston.

Mazeika's Elite Gymnastics, opening fall of 2007 in Northwest Houston will be one of the finest and safest gymnastics centers in Texas. This new facility owned and operated by Kevin & Laura Mazeika will be home to all levels of gymnastics instruction as well as additional programs for children and parents. The new facility is near completion and will be ready to start classes in September 2007.

Kevin Mazeika coached the Men's Olympic team in 2004 and is the current USA World Championship Coach and native Houstonian. Laura Mazeika is a veteran gymnast, girl's team coach, gymnastics judge and holds a masters degree in Kinesiology and Dance. Kevin coached the U.S. team to three of its most successful performances in recent history. The men's silver team medal at the 2004 Olympics was the men's best finish since they won the team gold medal in 1984, as well as the first team medal in a non-boycotted Olympics since 1932. The squad also earned the team silver medal at both the 2001 and 2003 World Championships. Prior to 2001, the men had not won a world team medal since 1979.

The Mazeika's have the experience and passion necessary to create a world class facility for children, not only for competitive teams but all levels of instruction. "Kevin has distinguished himself in this role at previous Olympic Games and the world championships, earning him the respect and confidence of his peers and the athletes," said Steve Penny, president of USA Gymnastics.

Mazeika's will focus on developing students to their full potential through gymnastics and related activities with positive coaching and sound fundamentals in a fun and exciting environment.
